Summit Technology, LLC ("Summit," "we," "us," or "our") built this policy to be read, not survived. It explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can tell us to do about it.
This policy covers greatservice.com and the ways you communicate with us: our web forms, our newsletters, our support channels, our phone lines, and our text messages.
This distinction matters more than anything else in this document, so it goes first.
Information about you. When you visit our website, fill out a form, subscribe to something, or contact our team, we collect information about you. This policy governs that information.
Information inside our clients' systems. When a client hires us to manage their technology, we work inside their Microsoft 365 tenant, their network, and their infrastructure. We do not copy that data out. It stays in the client's own environment, under the client's own control, and our handling of it is governed by the Master Services Agreement and any data processing terms signed with that client, not by this policy.
If you are an employee of one of our clients and you want to know how your employer handles your data, ask your employer. We are working on their behalf, not ours.
Information you give us directly:
Information we collect automatically when you use the website:
Information we receive from others:
We do not ask for and do not want government identification numbers, financial account numbers, health information, or other sensitive categories of personal information through this website. Please do not send them to us through a web form.
We use what we collect to:
If you communicate with Summit Technology, LLC by SMS or consent to receive SMS communications from us, we may collect your mobile phone number, message content, messaging preferences, and related information necessary to provide those communications.
We use mobile information to respond to requests, provide customer support, send account or service-related notifications, and maintain business operations related to those communications.
We do not sell mobile information. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties for their marketing or promotional purposes. We may share information with service providers as necessary to provide our messaging services, support our business operations, or comply with applicable legal requirements.
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
Message frequency varies based on your activity with us. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP. For assistance, reply HELP or contact Summit Technology through the contact information provided on this website.
Full messaging program terms, including how we obtain your consent, are in our Terms of Service.
We use cookies and similar technologies. When you first arrive, our consent banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or choose which categories you allow. You can change that choice at any time from the banner.
Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working: page routing, security, and remembering your cookie choice. These run regardless of consent because the site cannot function without them.
Analytics and performance cookies run only if you allow them:
We also use Google Search Console and third-party search analysis tools that work from aggregate search data, not from your individual visit.
If you would rather not be recorded, reject non-essential cookies in the banner and Clarity will not run.
We share information in four situations, and no others:
Service providers. Companies that run parts of our operation under contract: our email delivery platform, our messaging provider, our CRM and ticketing systems, Microsoft for our own business systems, and our analytics vendors. They may use your information only to perform work for us.
Business and legal requirements. When we are required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we need to protect the rights, property, or safety of Summit, our clients, or the public.
A business transfer. If Summit is acquired, merged, or reorganized, information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will post notice here before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
With your direction. When you ask us to share something with a partner, vendor, or another party.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have never done either, and mobile information is subject to the additional restriction stated in the SMS section above.
We keep personal information only as long as we need it:
We apply the same security practices to our own systems that we build for our clients: multifactor authentication, least-privilege access, encryption of data in transit and at rest, endpoint detection and response, logging and monitoring, and background checks on the team members who handle client environments.
No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate regulators within the timeframes the law requires.
Privacy laws vary by state and by country, and not all of them apply to a company our size. We decided that was a bad reason to give you fewer rights, so we extend the following rights to everyone who contacts us, regardless of where you live or whether we are legally required to.
You may ask us to:
To exercise any of these, email info@greatservice.com or write to the address below. We will verify your identity, then respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why before that deadline passes. There is no charge, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
If you think we got it wrong, tell us first and we will take another look. You may also complain to your state attorney general.
There is still no common standard for the "Do Not Track" browser setting, so we do not respond to it. Use the cookie banner instead. Whatever you choose there is what we act on.
Our website and our services are built for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email info@greatservice.com and we will delete it.
Summit operates in the United States and processes information here. Our service providers, including Microsoft and Google, may process information in other countries under their own safeguards. If you contact us from outside the United States, understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
When we change this policy we update the "Last updated" date at the top. If the change is significant, we will post a notice on the website for at least 30 days before it takes effect, and we will email anyone on our list. We keep prior versions and will send you one on request.
